I am inspired by Nature and the grounding act of painting. Embracing magic realism and using the traditions of plein-air, I paint to reveal deeper insights of my perceptions. Painting and mark-making for me is a ritualistic and nuanced form of record keeping. Enjoying the layers of process, I strive to generate a feeling of complexity anchored in memories and experiences by releasing the many sensations, feelings, and thoughts through my brush into my matrix of marks on the surface. This allows for the work to slowly reveal itself to the viewer and makes an interior world accessible. I use painting as a form of heightened communication to understand my own journey and to create relics of gratitude.
