Lorena Vazquez is a Mexican artist born in the late 70's. She begins and ends her studies in Communication Sciences at the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of the Americas Puebla. During the course of these travels to Lyon France to study for a year at the Université Jean Moulin Lyon III, where through observation and delve into critical studies begins to take a different approach to communication. From the beginning of his career, called her attention to express through disciplines closely related on the Arts; in this way, the film language and photography begin to structure and define her vision. As time goes by and at the end of her Bachelor degree, she decides to devote herself entirely to art and applies to New York SVA (School of Visual Arts in New York), where she is accepted to start her Masters degree in Fine Arts. After living abroad for some time, she lived situations that truncated her Master and completely change her perception and the way to rebuild the spaces. Upon returning to Mexico and to confront this transition into being and being, she decided to devote herself entirely to plastic arts, expressed largely through paintings, not leaving out the academy and continuing her graduate studies. Beside teachers as Alberto Ibañez, Jose Lazcarro, Juan Carlos Castillo, Eduardo Sabugal, Cesar Lopez, Jaime Contreras (Pipos), Marco Antonio Velasco, among others, and with reference to Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Gabriel de la Mora, Gabriel Orozco, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Cai Guo-Qiang, Rafael Lozano Hemmer, discover the fate of her proposal. Her work often raises reflections based on the interpretation of the world, its history, time, space and the effects on the self. Her proposal is based on plastic space reconstruction through spots seeking the aesthetic in the unconscious of each viewer.
