ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The picture is painted on an MDF board. The paste-like, transparent gel from "Guardi" was used as the filler. In a new series of pictures I try to express inner emotional states in my paintings instead of just capturing external reality. I adopt the impasto painting technique because the thick paint has many inherent properties such as weight, depth and gravity. The thicker it is applied, the more shadow it creates. It abstracts images and distorts the way viewers interact with subjects. It's ideal for conveying seriousness, intensity, and drama.
