In my paintings I take elements from the natural world and cover them with the lace of my abstract visions. Patterns, dots and lines are layered and intertwined with birds, insects, sea creatures and reptiles. The idea is to create an imaginary world that celebrates the beauty of the organic viewed through the abstract lens of the artistic eye. I like to work with vivid colors and whimsical shapes. The complex and intricate structure of my paintings strives to provide a sense of wonder and revelation for the viewer. The pieces are rich in details that invite your eyes to explore every inch of the canvas and delight in the new discoveries. As you travel through the universe of patterns, creatures and dots, you are provoked to trace the subtle flow of connections that exist between the elements of the painting. It provides a sense of rhythm and movement to the world of each piece. I find inspiration for my painting from my travels that give me a glimpse of both the beauty of nature and the variety of human cultures. It is a wonderful experience that opens up my boundaries and always presents me with a whole new plethora of images to process.
