This silk painting is part of the series Russian Seasons in Paris. This ballerina is a symbol of beauty, elegance and perfection of Russian ballet dancers that came to France thanks to Dyagilev to amaze the European spectators. Silk is my fevorite medium because I associate it with lightness, tenderness, beauty.

My name is Daria Tikhomirova and I live and work in Barcelona. I'm inspired a lot by silk and I mostly work with this fabric. I love its' softness, transparency. It made me think if silk paintings with 3D effect. You may find one in my profile, it's "Russian Seasons in Paris" with 5 ballerinas. There are two layers of silk that create this effect of third dimension. I love ballet and I have a series of works with ballet dancers. I participated in the Salon des Artistes Français in 2016 and in Drouot sales (organised by musee MoLA). In 2018 I took part in the Salon des Artistes Indépendants in the Grand Palais (Paris). I regularly take part in exhibitions in Russia.
