ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Maybe Art Could not change the world, but could stimulate the debate about it. Here is talk of femicide to indicate the most extreme form of violence against women, to distinguish it but at the same time put it in relation with femicide, that is, violence against women in all its forms, aimed at destroying their subjectivity on a psychological, symbolic level, economic and social, which usually precedes and can lead to femicide.

Nelson was born in 1973 Son of Ecuadorian Mum and Italian Dad, since an early age he was intrigued by Drawing, Painting, Sculpting and Carving wood, then he spent a lot of time traveling between Rome and Ecuador working with different artists and mediums where he held numerous Exhibitions, he also Exhibits his work in Brighton U.K., where he has been living and working since the year 2000 . He has been part of Brighton Art festival and has worked with famous Painters and Models like Jen Somerfield, Roswell Ivory, Lucian Freud's muse Sue Tilley etc... Nelson, Sculptor and Painter: I am fascinated by the transcendental qualities associated with figurative painting derived from the study of the Old Masters. It’s always hard to describe the kind of work I do, it's generated in classical painting techniques and this is delivered and defined in my work, I don't see myself as either classic or modern, it’s a blend of both! People always ask me why such a subject matter as the human body? To me this is like the ultimate subject matter, it’s so figurative and it’s the most direct message about who we are that you can possibly address and this is the subject I love to do that I will come back to over and over again.
