ABOUT THE ARTWORK
SILENT HEADS I was privileged to be a pupil in a special school, which integrated almost all art and craft teaching of which an important part was singing in a huge choir. About a year ago I began searching the internet and hit upon the most venerable choirs and orchestras shown on Youtube. What interested me, however, was the intense facial expression of the singers while singing. I began laboriously taking screenshots again and again to freeze a moment in time that I could empathise with and be moved by. I decided to keep the proportions of the YouTube frame and embarked on an age old analogue craft, that is called painting. We have all populated the digital world; the interesting subject, however, is the analogue painting, which is still and quiet and mesmerising throughout the centuries.
