Sacred Blue Mountains of Kedarnath Print

This artwork was inspired by two mystic Himalayan mountains, Kedarnath (or Kedarnath Main) and Kedarnath Dome (or Kedar Dome), in the Gangotri Group of peaks in the western Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river, in the state of Uttarakhand, India. There is an ancient Shiva temple which is open to the general public only from April to November because of extreme weather conditions.Τhe painting depicts Kedarnath in daylight, while the blue colour of the mountains accentuates the divinity of the place. This relief painting was handcrafted using multiple layers of modeling clay on foamboard, and finished with a passe-partout, matt glass and wooden frame.
