ART BIOGRAPHY AND STATMENT
I was born in Cape Town South Africa, however I spent my youth and schooling years in what was then Northern and Southern Rhodesia, now Zambia and Zimbabwe. I was an only child living on a small farm, and I explored the bush and springs on our land extensively. I had a passion for painting trees and faces when I was young. We returned to my birthplace and I now live in a small seaside village. I have no formal training and I have sold my works privately. My passion for drawing trees, landscapes and now architecture is still strong.
Art has always been a part of my life. If I wasn't painting I was making moulds creating ornaments and some form of crafting. I am fascinated by Van Gogh works and all impressionism in general.
I create, what I hope inspires deep thought and contemplation. My works are intended to be thought provoking rather than up-beat.
My preferred medium is Acrylic on Canvas with lashings of earthy tones.

My youth in Northern Zambia always inspires and I draw on those memories. There needs to be some form of intrigue or contemplation in my art for me to feel fulfilled by the work

I am fascinated by Van Gogh works and all impressionism in general.
