Historical references to the Viking looting of Paris, where King Charles the Bald sat on the throne at that time, inspired me to this story. The long Viking ships were the sadness of this king. I want the viewer, looking at the picture, to feel the salty sea wind with splashes on his face, hear the sound of the sea, the sound of steel and realize the joy when you return from a long trip to your native fiord with rich prey. The picture is made by my favorite materials - oil on canvas.

Pavel Levchenko, artistic nickname McLion. Born in 1976 in Ukraine in the city of Poltava. In his youth he was fond of ink drawing and a ballpoint pen on paper. In 2003 he emigrated to France. In 2010, inspired by his future wife, he returned to the drawing, got acquainted with watercolor. In parallel, he was engaged in Chinese painting. But in 2014, for the first time he tried oil painting on canvas and fell in love with this technique forever. In 2016, he already had his first solo exhibition in the city of Château-Renault in France. The exhibition was a great success. Inspired by success, he participated in many regional exhibitions of the Center of France. Also in numerous competitions of artists in the open air where he repeatedly won prizes. In 2019, the second solo exhibition was held. The artist's works are stored in many private and municipal collections in France.
