We all need to feel safe. From our development in the womb to the first hug, to the first home, bed, blanket, teddy bear. Pepi, my childhood teddy bear, was more than a toy. He was my constant companion who brought me comfort and solace when I needed it most. Pepi listened to my fears and worries, shared in my joys, and never let me down. Even now, he remains a cherished memory of a time when love and security came in the form of a simple stuffed animal. The painting depicts an older face, yet one that still holds the heart of a child, clutching onto her trusted teddy bear. It's a poignant reminder of the simple joys and comforts that we all need, no matter how old we are or where life takes us.
