I was born in Ravenna in 1964 and here my artistic journey unfolds, it moves from the wonderful and patient slowness of the mosaic artistic language up to the more immediate message of pictorial art. Oil painting allows me to express a narration that evokes the experience of remote people and lands, whose stories are the symbol of a space-time cyclicity that surrounds us and makes us sharers in the natural things of the world. Color is the primary element in my canvases: when I paint I am confronted with the emotional power of Expressionism, looking at the chromatic contrasts of the Byzantine pictor musivarius. I develop a way of representation that moves further and further away from traditional clichés, arriving to a sort of formal deformation that satisfies my need to link form to content.
