Santa Clara Street Print

Wandering the streets of Barrios Altos in Lima is a nostalgic experience due to the decay of this historic and traditional town: even before incan empire this way was a millenary path and after the hispanic conquest the monastery of Santa Clara was buit at the end of this street. The ancient alleys along this street where the creole revels used to take part are still in the memory of the city of Lima. With this in mind, the view of the Santa Clara Church at the end of the street and the contrast of the sunlight in the summer days of this desertic city, while I was painting this watercolor I tryed to keep the memory of this place, and the transparency and fluency of the medium was perfect for the purpose.
