About The Artwork

The Savuti waterhole is a lifeline for the elephants of Botswana during the dry season. The elephants travel far and wide to quench their thirst at the waterhole, sometimes covering distances of over 100 kilometers. They consume up to 200 liters of water daily, using their trunks to spray the liquid into their mouths or over their bodies. The waterhole is a place of bonding and interaction for the elephants. They greet each other with rumbles, trumpets, and touches, forming strong family ties and friendships.
