About the Artist

Naureen Meyer

United States

Born 1985, Fontana, California. Lives and works in Los Angeles, California.

Meyer's work investigates themes in material excess and over saturation connected to human relationships with the built environment, standards in beauty and the expectations of the contemporary city. The work takes form through a variety of media including sculpture, painting, drawing, and 3d digital design, incorporating modes of representation traditionally used in architecture.
Meyer received a BA in Studio Art from the University of California Irvine (2007) and a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc) (2010), where her final project The Cosmetic Limit received the Distinguished Graduate Thesis Award. She exhibited at La Ira De Dios in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2015 while participating in the international artist residency program under the gallery, and has recently exhibited work with DAC Gallery (2016) and The Little Tokyo Art Complex (2017) in Los Angeles.
