ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a new original gouache painting on Arches 140lb cold press watercolor. Original size of the original painting is 16 inches by 20 inches. At this time I am only offering prints of this painting. This was created because they're a. ton of water signs right now transiting the planets right now making for a dreamy atmosphere. Saturn is transiting Pisces but has gone retrograde ( backwards). This painting is about my subconscious and the creatures that swim below the surface. In my case, this applies to negative thoughts, old beliefs and crap from other people that I am getting rid of.

Born USA. I started making art at the age of 21. I was admitted on the spot to the San Francisco Art Institute upon showing the Dean of Admissions my portfolio of Thurberesque Drawings with funny captions. Much of my artistic inspiration from my flea market finds ( vintage & rare ephemera), my huge unusual vintage, children's book collection, dance & burlesque performances, icons, symbols and images from all kinds of religions and my exploration into personal relationships. Although I have a distinctive style, I have explored many mediums- collage, painting, drawing, print making & fabric design, digital art. Some of my work is pretty and decorative but I also create ugly & raw paintings. These self therapy paintings are meant to be ugly and humourous . Kitsch, fashion, phtography, film, Children's art, German expressionism, Matisse, Dufy, Nolde, Redon as well as unknown outsider & folk+ art brut artists are have contributed to my style. My new website May 2022 As of February 2013, I have published my first children's ebook LULU LOOKS FOR LOVE which is available on Amazon. Old Website - 2019 Two month art residency in the Berkshires, MA and created a series of 30 paintings and drawings.
