I am an artist and art teacher. I live and work in Kyiv, Ukraine, where I was born in an artist family. My style is based on classical tradition and is influenced by different styles of world art as impressionism and other world art movements. When the Soviet Union and socialism were officially declared dead in 1991 I graduated from the National Academy of Architecture in Kyiv. My realistic somewhat nostalgic style was developed during this time of the transition between perestroika and wild capitalism, when I was taking advantage of newly gained freedom, painting and studing at home, I was traveling in USA, California, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Germany. I find some of my motives around Kyiv and on my trips to other countries. In my oil paintings I try to capture the unique light of moment and colors of nature with the help of half and pastel tones. In contrast to many modern artists I do not follow the current tendencies such as concept or media art, but I developed my own expressive techniques of painting, e.g. monotype in which each image is painted on glass and printed on paper. The result is a unique peace of art with every print.
