Painter Jakub Tomas
born:1982 Czech republic,
He acquired the virtuosity of figural painting during his study at the painting studio of Jiří Sopko. The previous motifs of the scene and the still life are now continuously culminating in the new series. The “cut-outs” of photographs and prints mounted on cardboard are expanding into space as some sort of recycled product of the painter’s visual boundary. Sometimes ironic but by becoming spatial they turn into a model or a figural still life for painting. Author himself visualizes the scenes by arranging them according to the meaning or by using rhythm to bring them to motion.
