Oil on linen 28x38x2cm (11x15x0.8in) 2021, ready to hang. This artwork is the first of a series of self portaits which I painted during the pandemic. Being in my studio without the possibility of seeing people and work with models gave me the chance to look into myself and work on my technique. Here you have the highly detailed and realistic version of my self portrait, the last one I painted in the series and the first I present to the public. The colour palette I used for this painting drives to the blue, matching the clean light blue of the background. “Self portrait as a joker n.2” is a 28x38cm oil on linen artwork, stretched on a wooden frame and ready to hang.

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours.
