Oil on linen 28x38x2cm (11x15x0.8in) 2020, ready to hang. SOLD, private collection, Portland, US. This self portrait is an expressionist painting which I made in December 2020. It is part of a series of self portraits which I painted using different painting techniques. Here you can easily see the brush strokes which compose the crying face, furtherly underlined by the bright white background. The artwork is as crude as the technique used for painting it; the bright, acid colours underline the facial expression of the model. “Self portait” is a 28x38cm painting stretched on a supported wooden canvas. The sides of the artwork are painted so you can hang it on a wall without framing it (optional).

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours.
