The inspiration for this artwork came from a summer vacation I spent in the Mediterranean Sea. It was a moment of pure serenity, a pause from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The tranquil waters and the radiant sun served as my muses, compelling me to capture that feeling of fleeting peace. When viewers look at this piece, I hope they experience the same sense of tranquility that I felt. I want them to feel as if they are submerged in water, holding their breath for a moment, only to emerge into the sunlight and take a deep, refreshing breath. The artwork aims to evoke a light and weightless feeling like a soul momentarily freed from earthly concerns. I chose to paint on Khadi paper, a medium that lends itself well to the fluidity and texture of water. The subject matter—being submerged and then emerging into the light—reflects the transformative power of nature. The style is designed to be as light and ethereal as the feeling it aims to convey, using soft hues and gentle strokes to create a sense of weightlessness.
