ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Serenity is a portrait of a woman lying near pools of water that could be a small lake. In the water are koi fish that the woman is interacting with as she lies on a stone bridge that goes through the water. In the background are some Japanese architectural elements that evoke peace and calm as well. I created this from my mind, pulling together images from online for the fish and nature, and architectural elements. The woman came from doing a photo shoot with the model lying on a hot tub cover with her hand in the water. Magically, this make believe scene became real when a friend sent a photo of exactly what I painted including the woman, the stone bridge, background elements, and the koi fish. It was amazing. Perhaps that was due to the Flower of Life added into the painting, which is the geometric element in the moon, and then reflected into the water.

Life, Beauty, Nature, Mind Expansion My most recent work focuses heavily on bringing awareness to Mother Nature, who is desperately in need of our conservation efforts. I hope to share the beauty of Nature, its vibrant life, and its Collective Consciousness so that others may enjoy it, and therefore want to protect it. My art has always been spiritually related for me. It is an exploration of the soul, that I often depict through the eyes of people, animals, or woven in through other symbolism. Some of my paintings will use Reiki symbols, which is an energy healing technique, Sacred Geometry, such as the Flower of Life, or the Om symbol that I use frequently as an additional signature. I've also been playing with the idea of Quantum Universe possibilities, where choice and action create alternate realities. I'll use dots, or repetitive images to represent those possibilities. Motion is indicated by fading repetitive images as well. I hope that my work can lead the viewer to fathom limitless possibilities, and celebrate the beauty and majesty of Life.
