A contemporary watercolor artist, Jenny Liu creates intuitively expressive semi-abstract landscape paintings inspired by her fascination with the mountains of beautiful British Columbia and beyond. Born in 1962, Jenny currently lives and works in Vancouver, Canada, she is an active member of Federation of Canadian Artists. In 2018, after practicing landscape architecture for more than thirty years, Jenny decided to pursue her passion in watercolor painting full time. Artistic Statement Influenced by traditional Chinese ink painting, European Impressionism and American Abstract Expressionism, Jenny’s watercolor landscape paintings are an exploration of her past memories and her own imaginations through an intuitive, spontaneous and expressive process. Her semi-abstract style invokes a sense of ambiguity or vagueness, which encourages a diverse range of interpretations and explanations. Through her art, the viewer is invited to feel, fantasize, and create their own stories.
