This is a larger version of Wet night in city. The first version was painted on a dark ground and I did not feel I had got the brightness that I wanted. This new picture was painted on a lighter ground and has achieved the brightness I was looking for.

I now live in Royton near Oldham. I paint the world around me. This is the starting point for my paintings. I don't produce photographic copies but use the subject as a starting point to create a unique image which has its own poetry and meaning.
