ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Sometimes a silent hug is the only thing to say.” – Robert Brault. I like to think art helps keep us alive. This new work is a bit somber. Not despairing, but calm and serene. In moments of great chaos and confusion, I hope art helps us deal with the intense disarray of what lies ahead. I choose with this work, to not portray shouts from the mountain tops, but to remain still and silent within the embrace of a silent hug. Hugs are therapy for the soul.

I love to paint people. The human face and figure is the most captivating subject for me. I enjoy painting the snippets of life. Capturing folks enjoying a summer afternoon in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia or children having summer fun in a city park. I paint everyday people and moments in life. The goal of my work is to make a connection with the viewer. I hope in some small way, my work sends a message out into the world. A message of hope, of change and of social justice.
