ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Painted in pastels on pastelmat paper, I wanted to capture this silent creature as she witnesses the speed of change around her. Struggling to adapt and survive in our ever changing world, these resilient creatures face near constant dangers and threats to their existence. I wanted to show that whilst there's a sense of fear in her eyes, ultimately she is a bystander like the rest of us. An onlooker in a world of progress, observing the world from the fringes as the paradigm shifts.
