ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I got up early yesterday morning and had no idea what to paint. I recently bought my wife some tulips. I was looking around for something to paint and decided on this. I for the first time used only a number 11 brush with acrylic going just for the general colors and feel of the painting. The larger brush forced me to relax and not sweat the details. Just go with the flow as they say.

I started painting late in life, approximately three years ago, after I had a conversation with my nephew, who was attending college for an art degree at the time. Dennis Collins, my nephew, is a very talented artist and I am a fan of his. He was nice enough to pass on in one of our conversations that his favorite art professor used to say that any painting is good and that you shouldn't worry about the outcome. It is an expression of the individual doing that artwork. After that conversation, I figured what the heck, I will go for it. So now my favorite thing on weekends, is to get up early in the morning, crank on my favorite rock and roll music and just go for it. I usually come out of a "painting frenzy blackout" - the good kind :), covered in paint after 3 or 4 hours, feeling great. I LOVE TO PAINT and am truly blessed that I found this passion/hobby.
