Simply Beautiful Print

Oil on canvas, 50cm on 60cm, signed in the bottom. My inspiration for this painting came from my friends and the struggle to feel beautiful in our society. Hair, skin, body, … everything has to be perfect while beauty often lies in the imperfections. Her hair is thick and afro, her skin comes from a mixed heritage and her style is from the western 60’s … it makes her unique and simply beautiful … I like a simple, effective, straight to the point approach to my paintings, with clear lines and bright colours. I paint in a realistic way with a touch of graphic novels style. The subject is usually women, nature and wildlife. I combine different images to create a unique vision of a thought, event or feeling. I paint mostly using oil on canvas for its versatility. It allows me to create bright images that pop out and at the same time gives room for softness and drama.
