ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This piece is one of a series where I make spontaneously appear characters and stories among the ink stains. In this I met some of them interacting suspiciously in a mountainous landscape...

Born in a certain year of the 70's. Raised in Buenos Aires, the capital of the Argentine Republic, where I have resided ever since. One of my first memories is trying to sleep and beginning to imagine space and not being able to understand the concept of Infinity. It caused me a lot of anguish not being able to understand it. I related it to religion, the concept of eternity, which I couldn't understand either. I think that from there I always had an interest in those concepts, the verifiable and the mysterious. The point where Science becomes so complex that you just have to surrender to believe in miracles. As for visual art, perhaps that athmosphere of mystery is what I like to express. When I make faces, I end up mixing a bit of reality in the looks, but not so concerned about the the academic correctness, to maintain the spirit of the unreal. When I draw a landscape, I try to brig that feeling to me, like the one expressed in that landscape. And they are often lonely for that reason. I enjoy introspection but I live in a big city that often stuns me. As for the abstract, in 2020 and in this pandemic context, I have gone through a moment of mandatory isolation. And like everyone else, I have surely transformed more quickly. I feel, like many others, that events have accelerated, on all levels. From Geopolitics to spirituality. That is why this year abstract works are made on previous ones, to transform them but still having the there in some way. While I can feel a glimmer of what I want to express, how it ends up materializing is a mystery. For this reason, many do not have a title and others are gaining it over time. I think the answers are revealed as we evolve. And in return, the reaction of those who like or dislike these works is so unexpected that it becomes very attractive to me. And then the whole spiral keeps turning and moving forward, and thay way I find a glimpse of better understanding of things. Throughout the time that I am painting and drawing, I have learned to respect my times and balance anxieties, to understand that there is no goal but that it is a whole process that will be seen over time and, I hope it lasts when I'm not here My project is to never stop learning and walking paths. I do not intend to run towards a goal, but to discover things along the way. I believe that my virtue is to respect that I have many concerns and styles, that I am ambiguous, that I transform myself many times.
