ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Skulls have been used as good luck charms in various cultures in the past as they are believed to ward off illness and guard against evil spirits. ... So why is the skull so popular in fashion? Most likely because of its universal appeal and versatile meaning. What it signifies and when you think about the symbolism of the skull it does pose a query. But the skull does represent a single thing; it conveys different meanings for eras, many cultures and beliefs. Skulls are associated with mortality and death, and that's the reason why they feature in horror movies. All of us have an inherent fear of the unknown and death, and it might explain why some people may see them offensive, as skulls are a reminder of that. We're all familiar with the Jolly Roger flag, used by pirates to strike fear into others' hearts. Others have used skulls and bones to alert others to intent and their existence whereas the Jolly Roger flag is a picture of threat. Using a purpose to the Jolly Roger flag, some tribes used to indicate the outskirts of their land with bones and skulls to ward off trespassers. Not all significance of the skull carry negative connotations, in some societies that the skull is thought to symbolize the guarantee of the immortality of our soul and the afterlife. By maintaining the face, Crystal skulls should symbolize life as opposed to death. Symbolises spirituality and the afterlife. A skull with wings symbolises the experience that awaits in the afterlife and the freedom. The skull is often related to Christianity and religion . Saints are pictured with crucifix and a skullto remind sinners of their afterlife and the choices they've made. Skulls are used as good luck charms in a variety of cultures in the past since they're thought to ward off disease and guard against evil spirits.

I’m Canadian abstractionist, an artist synesthetes*, Abstract Expressionist. Emotions are very important to me. When you are in art all your life is at this particular moment. It’s like improvisation in music. You need explain all life in one moment, in one phrase, in one white square… Emotion is a relationship with other people. My art is a relationship with others too. I like challenge, I like to make something new every day, on the end I like to win. And more important I like to win Every day. For me to finish my canvas is like red line for the runner or reaching the peak of a mountain for a climber, I will die for this. I love colours, I love paint, and I love canvas, white canvas. I like even prepare canvas for painting, I just love to be an artist. When I’m painting I feel like a runner, marathon 42 km. runner dying for red line, dying to reach the finish line. I feel like the climber whose single goal driving him all the time is to reach the peak of the mountain. I want to succeed. I love to win. I feel myself so liberated when create art. First, because I can produce something that is influence on human’s mood or state of mind, and second, because I can escape this reality. And I like this feeling. My paintings have been sold for years to offices, shops and private residences in Canada, Australia, USA, Europe etc. Up until now in 18 countries. I am continuously developing my style of painting, keeping it interesting for you to come back for another visit. Don’t hesitate to contact me, I will be happy to answer all your questions.
