I select inspiring subjects containing a unique energy and spirit; the kind that drives change and brings light into the world. I aim to capture their essence by creating engaging paintings filled with color and movement. Utilizing art’s powerful ability to move people, I tap into my passion as I try to portray that of my subject’s. My style combines elements of Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism infused with my own individual elements. Many of the faux finish techniques I developed over my 10 years specializing as a faux finish painter can be subtly found within my paintings. Often inspires and drawn from local neglected buildings, these layers add depth and visual intrigue while playing off the dichotomy of run down structures as the background to my colorful work. I enjoy incorporating this as I feel it serves as an important reminder that even in the darkest, most forgotten places, light and beauty can always be found. 10% of proceeds from every painting donated to local charities.
