About the Artist

Katie B

Katie B- I live in the small magical village of Saxapahaw, NC. I am a full time single mom of two incredible, wild boys. I am incredibly passionate about connections, community, hearts being on fire, souls being free and farming that serves and respects the animals we raise and the earth we live on.

I believe we are deep in an epic battle between freedom and light, and darkness and enslavement. I used to be a prisoner. I had jobs and relationships that did not feed me, that kept me numb. I tried hard to swallow my desire for Union and passion but it couldn't be done!!

The past 6 years of my life have been about me getting freer and freer. About me claiming more and more, unapologetically, the truth of who I am and what I need to feel alive on this earth. I do not wish to merely live, but to live with my heart ablaze, flying out the back door with a slam, blasting up as high as I can go.
This yearning is not just a selfish act. I feel that giving love permission to flow as strongly as it can somehow releases energy that is not only repairing the broken tissue of the universe, but protecting the earth, shrinking the darkness and healing my body. Love, fire and freedom is a sacred duty and responsibility to let out and let shine.

I want my art to support you. The artist, the lover, the farmer, the fool. The human who is on the path of the heart. I especially want to support those who are still in prison and who feel the smallest spark to get free. I want to break you free from the mundane humdrum that keeps our spirits apathetic, detached, disinterested and aloof. I want to free artist and lovers. Your art, music, dancing, stories, acting, words and love are some of the most essential elements to survival. You inspire me and make me shine brighter. Do what you were created to do! Do what makes you be in love. Trust the path of the heart and let the medicinal light burst from your eyes.
