ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This picture tells a story. The king of the snow dogs is in his kingdom of ice and snow. His thoughts are hidden from us but his royal fur speaks of beauty and warmth. Designed to live in the frozen north. His pack are not far. Alone he rules. His kingdom of frozen lakes and woods and fields is all around. What he feels or thinks are unknown and inscrutable. His portrait commissioned he stands aloof yet some how friendly. He can bark, he can bite but he can be the best friend for man. He can protect, he can hunt and he can serve. His portrait shows I am king of his realm. But his power is delegated. He has no divine right to be king. No he serves under men, under God. He does not rebel his rulers. Yet the artist who controls him is a greater King made to rule over God's realm. Yet the artist man has rebelled and has made himself his own King. I am king I can make any art I like. Yet to live like the dogs has broken his crown. Over him he forgets that someone gave him the right to paint. I am King- only one person can say that absolutely. Bow to his reign.
