ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Might the word bring you peace or unrest? When we are surrounded by nothing but our own thoughts and emotions, the silence is loudest. Whether this is a positive or negative rests entirely on ones predilection or predisposition. Isolation always creates the perfect unrelenting brainstorm which excites arduous emotional rainfall….a washing of residual imprints from our souls. Solitude is not meant to enervate, It exists to heal. We will arrive on the other end of this stronger. This painting emerged when my personal thoughts and emotions were at an extreme as I struggled to make sense of the occurrences around me - while I sat - powerless - Isolated from it - from everyone. During this pandemic, many of us have struggled - especially mentally. There has been fear, anger, frustration - the latter being the most prevalent…it seems. I wanted to capture the frustration of attempting to dampen those negatives…while unwittingly working through them. 53" x 36" Acrylic on unstretched vinyl
