The Selfie Series: It began with a blind contour self portrait collage that I enjoyed so much I decided to search Instagram for inspiration. As I explored the millions of selfie images online I became more fascinated with the selfie culture and decided to combine blind contour drawing techniques with abstraction to reflect the many social facets that make the culture so intriguing. The artwork titles have been carefully selected from commonly used selfie hash tags. Loose blind contour drawings based on multiple Instagram selfies are layered with acrylic paint, graphite, conte, and paper on a cradled wood panel. Ready to hang. Measures 30 x 24 x 1.5 inches.
