She studied Zoology, is a keen scuba diver, has worked for conservation organisations and has an honours degree in Design. Her work is striking when viewed from a distance, but at close quarters, textures, embedded colours and attention to detail become apparent. There is often a close relationship between the creatures she portrays and the viewer, her subjects are contemplating the observer and the world of humans, they are not just static pieces of art.
