Spiral Galaxy Print

I am always inspired by color. I have always been attracted to the most colorful artworks, pictures, nature is so colorful as well. Colors just make me feel good. I absolutely love seeing how colors interact on the canvas. I will often start painting with a feeling or an emotion in mind. Without wanting to go figurative, colors are, in my mind, the best way to convey a feeling or an emotion. In this case, that day, it was energy, simply was feeling quite energic! My mind was effervescent with ideas and this is the painting that came from that! I also like to use fluorescent colors to give the painting a hidden side. When put under a black light you get a whole new look to the same painting. It is just like the saying: "Never trust first impressions". It is something we discussed in length with my art school classmates, its a discussion that really stuck with me through the years. It changed how I approach people and life in general, it's a saying that is important to me and this is the way I found to include it in my art and pass the word along.
