b. 1997 At the age of 15 Samuel Alvarez started with drawing simple cartoons online and soon found himself studying graphics and illustration at his local college. On a college trip to London he visited the Tate Britain where he fell in love with the paintings of the pre-raphaelites, such as John Waterhouse and Arthur hacker, painters who blended the fine arts with illustrative storytelling. Realising his passion for the arts he applied for the Barcelona academy of art where he went on to study with them for 3 years. Drawing and painting every day helped him learn the techniques and methods he had always wanted to know. After finishing the academy Samuel has been studying and developing his vision of reality merging illustration, figure and landscape into one.
