I have been painting - my whole life. My mother is an artist and I was exposed to so many mediums and ideas as a child I had no idea one wasn't supposed to just go off in any direction inspiration took one, that it wasn't normal to let creativity drive. However, I didn't think of myself as an artist, at least not a visual one, but in college (a hundred years ago) I was told I had to take classes outside my major (Music) and the only interest I had was ... visual art. So classes I took. I was already a painter, but with the classroom discipline came - form - structure - values - atmosphere. Now, many years since, I have been teaching painting and drawing for years. I have run my own gallery and immersed myself in the whole bohemian starving artist experience, till I got tired and went off and got a day job. With age comes wisdom, and now close to retirement, I can truly say I am an artist. I am happy with my work, and production. Finally my skills and technique have caught up with my inspiration and drive. You will be able to see, I hope, that I am still fascinated by all kinds of environments: Light, color, texture, emotions. Watercolor, Oil, Acrylic, Layers of Media. Whatever the vision calls for is reflected in the medium.
