ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was inspired by a sunny, warm Spring day in Toronto in April 2008. My Sons, Cameron and Spencer were painting and enjoying the glorious weather. I felt light, joyful and optimistic. I wanted the paint strokes, brush and finger to be light, bright and hopeful.

I started painting, drawing, and taking photographs in 2006 as a way to create memories with my kids. We would paint together while listening to Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Coldplay or the latest hip hop tune. We bonded over creating art. These are precious memories to be sure! I painted any time I could. I painted on wood, cardboard, canvas and paper. I experimented with various techniques, paints, and colours. It became addictive and I experienced a pure thrill in the creative process. I still do!
