ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is my painting of St Agatha's Abbey it is located at Easby, Richmond, North Yorkshire, Engand. Just a short way from where I live. I painted it in Acrylic paint on a Hessian canvas which I shreched. I like the course open weave of Hessian. I like to stretch my own canvas over a frame that I made. I think it gives my work character instead of using mass produced materials. I try to make my paintings as true to life as I can. Although this does take some considerable time to achieve.I think that it is amazing to think how they manage to build such structures years ago. I hope you have enjoyed viewing my work.
