This painting was perhaps inspired by looking at a lot of Sargent watercolors. Check him out if you want. I still wanted to work on full figures and I liked the environment this model was standing in. I hope the viewer is affected by and attracted by the blues and crimsons that run in this painting. I'd like the effect to be calm and exciting at the same time. Once again, I'm after beauty and color in this work. I chose oil on canvas pad because I consider myself still learning to paint. When I took painting in art school, the professor only showed up on the first day and the last day. So I consider myself self taught.
