ABOUT THE ARTWORK

As a diverse two-dimensional artist, I employ mixed media, including paint, silkscreen and collage. I approach my work through observation and intuition, taking inspiration from unusual discoveries, my backyard studio, and world travels. My studio is filled with "still life" potential; objects both mundane and unique. A still life has become one of my favorite memories while traveling through Italy! In this painting, I used thinned acrylic paint on Rives BFK paper and have abstracted the space in a gestural manner. The art will ship matted/framed in a basic black or white wood frame with plexi.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My art reflects my roots in Cape Cod and Maine, with worldwide travels, an M.A. in French literature and studies in Buddhism enriching life’s journey. I was introduced to printmaking in graduate school, and soon established a silkscreened greeting card company, Eastern Sun Printworks, owned and operated by me for nearly 30 years. I work on prepared paper or board, and from a wide variety of subject matter: still life, figurative, plein air, landscape. Drawing/painting intuitively and gesturally, over and under previous marks on the page, I often add pasted rice paper elements, pattern tissue, torn silk screens and recycled artwork from the past, layering the drawn or painted areas to allow previous marks to show through. In exploring how a perception becomes a mark on the page, my work has become more abstract. Eva Hesse, Jacques Derida, Manuel Neri, John Marin, Jorge Luis Borges, Richard Diebenkorn, Elizabeth Murray, and Louise Freshman Brown are among those who have most influenced and inspired me.
