ABOUT THE ARTWORK
DETAILS AND DIMENSIONS
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

During Lockdown, when I haven't been able to go out into the landscape, I have been working from a selection of still-life objects. One of them is an Indian camel candle holder which is made from shaped metal; I have owned it for years. I used ink, collage, and acrylic in this work.

Katrina is primarily, though not exclusively, a landscape painter and the Fenland landscape around her home provides a continuous source of subjects. Creating strong compositions and harmonious colour relationships are her main concerns when painting. She builds up the image in layers, continually making adjustments until these objectives have been achieved. This process results in an interesting surface texture which is an integral part of the work. She sees the final painting as a distillation of her response to the subject. After gaining a BA in Fine Art (Painting) from the Central School of Art, London, Katrina used her art skills in many different ways to earn a living. She was employed by a specialist decorating company for several years which included painting murals and decorative finishes on walls and furniture. She also worked as a freelance illustrator with clients in both publishing and advertising. A few years ago, she self-published a children's book that she both wrote and illustrated. In recent years, she has had more time to devote to painting and regularly exhibits her work in Cambridgeshire and London. She has paintings in collections in the UK and abroad.
