Duane crafts powerful compositions that evoke emotion and often tell a story. His creations are frequently inspired by daily life, and are often symbols of what we see around us, more often with a focus on a part of that scene or object. Composition and color are the driving force for inspiration in his work. A New Mexican artist, originally from Northern California, Duane has been a student of watercolor, pastel, clay, ink and digital mediums, with oil painting being the medium of choice for the past seven years. When not behind the easel, he and his wife, Irene (a dancer and model for much of his work) enjoy travel and performing caricature “work” at parties and other events.
