About The Artwork

Serhii Silchenko – a Ukrainian artist, holding a Master’s of Arts degree – graduated from Cherkasy National University, with specialisation in fine and decorative arts. He uses oil paints in his works. The picture was created as a single copy. The author’s words: Canvas and oil are not just means of depicting the surrounding space for me - they are the tools for transmitting the Divine spark of an artist's personality and attitude. Everything I call into existence on canvas, each colour is a facet of me, my consciousness and subconsciousness. And when an idea is expressed in a concept, then emotion is expressed in colour, in its limitless spectrum of shades. I follow colour "not as a means of external description, but as a means of spiritual expression", as Henri Matisse said.

Silchenko Sergey is an artist who expresses emotions and feelings through colour that is manifested in his own style developed over the years. Having received a master's degree at a national university as well as education at the classical school of painting, he has not found the necessary pleasure and inspiration in it. While looking for his own way to portray the beauty of the world, comprehending the secrets of colour, not only from the artistic side, but also by examining its psychological impact on a person, Sergey fell in love with colour, which became the main tool of his work. His paintings influence people psychologically; bright colours and inventive compositions amuse the soul and awaken a feeling of love in any spectator.
