I have been creating art since I can remember, but in the last thirty years I have been painting on canvas, creating assemblages and collages. Every time I paint I know it will be an adventure with rough wild streams, smooth mossy rivers, and windy sweet-smelling grasslands. The end result may be satisfying but the moods in between are the magic of loving to paint. The sea and nature inspire me, as do my extensive travels throughout the world. I am influenced by the various landscapes and cultures, and the awakening of all of my senses throughout these journeys. I mostly paint abstract but I also do some figurative abstract using mixed media such as acrylic and oil paint, ink, pastels and graphite adding texture if a painting needs that dimension. My main focus is on the color and design of the whole piece. It isn't finished until I can feel it is true with all six senses–intuition being the sixth and most important. I live in Pacific Palisades, California and as a result of the area’s beautiful weather, am able to paint in my outdoor studio nearly year round. My customers include top designers and stagers in the Los Angeles area as well as private buyers through various art shows and online. I thoroughly enjoy doing custom paintings for clients to meet the needs of a particular space. Any sized canvas or board using oil or acrylic paint, mixed media, or assemblages are my favorite materials for expressing emotion, color, and mood. All my art on canvas is varnished and ready to hang. Art on paper is archival Arches 140lb cold press paper. I invite you to view my available work and reach out to me with any questions you might have. I am always happy to make arrangements for local customers to view specific paintings in person. I hope if you’re viewing my art, you will find pleasure and truth in it. -Mary Kinzelberg
