View In My Room
I met a fashionable lady in the lobby of the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. She was actually waiting for her husband to go to dinner. I was likewise waiting for a dinner date. We started a mutual conversation and I made complimentary remarks about her unique hat and stylish white blouse.. She asked me what I did for a living, " Artist" I said. She asked me if I could do a portrait of her. I was not hesitant at all at. I saw this as a possible client possibility. The femme appeared to be a woman of wealth prominence. This could be justified by her expensive outfits and jewelry she was wearing. I inquired if if it was alright to do a quick sketch of her on the spot.. She did not object. Since I did not have any sketch pad, pen or pencil with me, I simply grabbed a black marker and a guest note pad which were on a small table near me and I started the brief process. I was a little nervous about the husband arriving and finding me engaged in such an impromptu artistic rendezvous. I expressed my reservations. On the contrary, she affirmed that the husband would actually be thrilled if my artistry was good. Yes indeed he was when showed up. He admired the two drawings I had completed. I did a third rendition in his presence. In this delineation processes, the husband kept on nodding in approval. .The wife looked at him, jiggled a little and winked. I actually brought this dramatic eye scenario in my latter painting. Incidentally, these individuals were art connoisseurs and collectors. I noted that I had gallery in Beverly Hills. They were ecstatic about visiting my venue and purchasing some art. I had scheduled an art showing at my gallery location within three weeks time. The couple enthusiastically promised to attend. During the opening night, the couple was among the first attendees to purchase art. Furthermore, the husband commissioned me to do a very realistic portrait painting for his wife which was presented to her on her birthday. This whole accidental occurrence eventuality bought about unforeseen positive results. I also thought it would be beneficial to my creative propensity to developed a painting from the hotel sketches. The resultant desirable conclusion was the creation of this piece titled" Style." In this particular work of art, I wanted to bring back those memories of that hotel husband-wife liaison and most importantly the style and gracefulness this elegant lady exuded. This original painting is accompanied by a sealed Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
