ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspiration comes in many forms. Books, film, music, the everyday. This painting was generated in my studio and was informed by such factors. I have many paintings on the go at one time, and they all evolve organically. I might have a seed of an idea, a moment of inspiration and will always make sure I have the materials at hand in the studio to capture that. This painting evolved to depict two characters with mobile devices. I kept with a blue, grey, green tonal pallette. Hence the term 'subterranean' and 'blues' which is also a play on Bob Dylans song of the 1960's. Another inspiration of mine.
