ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My dreams are often about tsunamis. At the bottom of the tsunami, the sea is calm. There, everything grows and flourishes. You can move freely because you feel weightless. A world we don't see on the surface. Anything can arise there. I play with characters from paintings by Neo Rauch. His book is always open in my studio. His East German color palette makes me long for a world that I do not know but would like to stay in one day.
